City of South Daytona, Florida

The City of South Daytona operates under the council/manager form of government. This system of government combines the strong political leadership of elected officials with the strong managerial experience of an appointed professional manager.

 

In council/manager government, council members are the leaders and policy makers and the manager is appointed by council to carry out policy and ensure that the entire community is served.

 

The council hires the manager to carry out the administrative responsibilities. Council persons have four-year staggered terms.
