The Community Development Department performs multiple functions related to:

 

In addition, the Department department issues occupational licenses, permits for buildings, signs, garage sales, tree removal, and special events, contractor registration, and Community Development Block Grants.

 

The department inspects all new construction, enforces property-maintenance codes, provides mapping services, tracks infrastructure development, administers the Comprehensive Planning process, keeps track of baseline community data, and provides staff assistance to the Land Development and Regulation Board, the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, and the Code Enforcement Board.
