Message from the Chief:

"As the fire chief of the South Daytona Fire Department, I want to welcome you to our web site. As you maneuver through the site, you will find many programs that are offered to the citizens of South Daytona. Some of these programs include fire prevention, CPR, fire extinguisher training, flu shots, smoke detector installations and the vial of life.

A few years ago, our department was one of the first in the area to start a residential Knox box program to assist our residents in times of need. The department consistently wins the prestigious Life Safety Award presented from the Residential Fire Safety Institute for our record of no residential fire deaths. Thanks to the work of our EMS division, the department scores at the top for our yearly state medical inspections.

Our members are constantly improving their training and education with many of them holding college degrees and several state certifications ranging in pump operations, fire inspector and company officer. As a department we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of service for your tax dollars. Combine all of this with our commitment and desire to serve the citizens of South Daytona and we will be ready to face the challenges of the future."
