Piggotte Community Center
 | | "Coach" Joe Piggotte became a Council member in 1984 and served as the Mayor of South Daytona from 1986 - 2005. He earned the affectionate name of "Coach" after leading two area high school basketball programs for 21 years. From the beginning of his 15-year term as Mayor, "Coach" Piggotte attracted a large and close, almost paternal following of South Daytonans who dreamed with him of a change for the city. His leadership and enthusiasm attracted qualified council members and a new city manager. Together with a bright staff and a popular mandate, the city embarked on a new era of growth. The Piggotte Community Center is located at 504 Big Tree Road, South Daytona. It is a 7,000-sq. ft. building that is the home of the Parks and Recreation Department Administrative offices and features a Conference Room and Reception Hall. |
