South Daytona residents have done an excellent job preventing the spread of COVID-19 thus far, but we are not out of the woods yet.  New cases are popping up all over Florida.  During this potential resurgence of the disease, we ask that you help reduce the spread by following three simple rules…

  1. Wash up.
  2. Back up.
  3. Mask up.

Washing your hands is an easy way to protect yourself and others from acquiring the virus.

Back up to ensure a minimum of six feet separates you from others.

Mask up to prevent infection and to slow the transmission of the disease.

What is needed now is a common-sense approach to the problem.  If you are sick for whatever reason, stay home.  If you are out in public, we strongly encourage you to take personal responsibility and wear a mask.  If someone is not wearing a mask, keep your distance from them.  It’s that simple.

The City is participating in the “Step Up Volusia” campaign.  “Step Up Volusia” is represented by a group of city and county leaders within our community who have the well-being of the citizens of South Daytona and this county at heart.  Our goal is to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Volusia County.  So please remember: Wash up.  Back up.  Mask up.  Let’s work together to eliminate the spread of this terrible disease.
