Mayor’s Message

In the last few weeks, life for many of us has drastically changed.  Changed in the way we greet each other,  travel out of town, our trips to the grocery store, we are all learning a new normal.  This new normal seems to be changing almost hourly.

We must exercise patience and follow the precautions outlined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Our goal is to do our part to stop the spread of this virus.  In the near future we may have to make changes at City Hall and how we conduct the business of the City.  I ask that you continue to follow the updates on the City webpage and on Facebook.  Soon, you may even need to call City Hall before you stop by.

Please know that your City Council, City Manager and Staff are all being faced with difficult decisions as  we maneuver through turbulent times.  We  realize that our decisions are not taken lightly.  Every decision is made as an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and ultimately save lives.

On a personal note, for the past 40 years,  Public Safety has been my way of life, and this virus has caused an even stronger personal resolve.  Don’t take chances, we have all been made aware of the risk we face if we don’t follow the guidelines given to us.  I normally end my emails with “stay safe”, in this time of a new normal, staying safe has an even deeper meaning.

Stay safe

Bill Hall
