Where Can I Park My Vehicle? back

WHERE CAN I PARK MY VEHICLE?

  1. In residential districts, vehicles must be parked on the designated, hard-surface driveway area or in the garage or carport.
  2. Parking is prohibited on the grass in the front and side yards. (See side yard exception behind front plane of home, noted in number 6 below.)
  3. Parking is permitted on the parkage only when the driveway and other designated, hard-surface parking areas are full. The “parkage” is the unpaved area between the edge of the road pavement and adjacent property line. Generally this is between the edge of the road and the sidewalk.
  4. No vehicle shall block a public sidewalk.
  5. No on-street parking, except in cases of emergency or to momentarily pick up or discharge a passenger or load/unload merchandise.
  6. RVs, utility trailers and boats are required to be parked in the back or side yard as long as they are behind the front plane of the home. Corner lots are considered to have two front yards, therefor the RV or boat cannot be parked in the “front yard” area.
  7. Unregistered vehicles, inoperable vehicles or vehicles which cannot be legally driven on Florida roads because of damage or lack of repair are prohibited from being stored on residential property except inside a totally enclosed building.
  8. Under no circumstanced may any vehicle, RV or equipment be used as temporary or permanent living quarters in residential areas.
  9. No vehicle shall be stopped, left standing or parked in any fire lane.
  10. Parking in a designated Handicapped Parking space without a permit is subject to a $100 parking citation.
  11. Other Illegal parking, as noted above, is subject to a $25 parking citation.
