    1. South Daytona is partnering up with Southern States Fishn’ & Huntn’ Magazine to hold our annual kids fishing tournament on Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Reed Canal Park. You can pre-register at the South Daytona Police Department or sign up on the day of the event beginning at 8:30am. Free rods and reels will be given out to all participating children.
    2. Sparkle Days is coming up and will begin April 15th and last through April 25th. Our solid waste contractor, Waste Pro, will be collecting anything you can drag, push or pull to the right of way (except paint and hazardous waste) during this event. The Sparkle Days event is the time to spring clean your house, garage and yard.
    3. South Daytona Community Trust $1,500 Academic Scholarship is now accepting applications. Submission Deadline is Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Applications are available on our City website, or you can pick one up at the City Manager’s office.
    4. We will have a ribbon cutting for the newly renovated Magnolia Park on Thursday, May 2nd starting at 10:30 am. Come and enjoy the grand opening of the new park designed to promote the art of fishing.

  3. 9. Consideration of approving an expenditure of $209,467.67 for Spectrum to underground utilities on South Ridgewood Avenue from McDonald Street to Ridge Boulevard as budgeted in the Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Fund Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
  4. Resolution No. 2024-10. A Resolution of the City of South Daytona, Florida, authorizing the Mayor to sign the South Daytona Evaluation and Appraisal affidavit attesting that all Elements of the City Comprehensive Plan comply with Florida Statutes; and providing an effective date. First and only reading.  
  5. Resolution No. 2024-11. A Resolution by the City Council of the City of South Daytona, Florida authorizing the adoption of the 2023/2024 update to South Daytona’s Annual Progress Report for the City’s Floodplain Management Plan; proving for conflicting resolutions; providing for severability; and providing an effective date. First and only reading.

 E. REGULAR AGENDA

  1. Consideration of approving the purchase of sewer lift stations manufactured by Smith and Loveless from the sole provider Hydra Service to replace Lift Stations #4 (Anastasia Drive near the Ridge Traffic Circle), #6 (Valencia Drive), #13 (Lantern Park) and #14 (Aspen Drive) to be installed by Danus Utilities in the amount of $634,885 as budgeted in the current Fiscal Year.
  2. Consideration of approving the first, one (1) year extension of the Emergency Debris Hauling and Disposal Contracts with CrowderGulf, Ceres Environmental Services, and Philips & Jordan.
  3. Consideration of approving the first, one (1) year extension of the Emergency Debris Monitoring Contracts with Tetra Tech, Thompson Consulting Services, and Rostan Solutions.
  4. Resolution No. 2024-08. A Resolution of the City of South Daytona, Florida, authorizing the Mayor and City Manager to execute the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement (2023) from the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management; and providing an effective date.  First and only reading.
  5. Resolution No. 2024-09. A Resolution of the City of South Daytona, Florida,   amending Resolution No. 2024-02, setting forth appropriation for current expenses and capital outlay for the following funds: General Fund, Permits and Inspections Fund, Recreational Development Impact Fee Trust Fund, Fire Impact Fee Trust Fund, Police System Impact Fee Trust Fund, Transportation Fund, Transportation Impact Fee Trust Fund, Capital Project (Cell Tower) Fund, Capital Project (ARPA) Fund, Water Sewer Fund, Water System Impact Fee Trust Fund, Wastewater Impact Fee Trust Fund, Solid Waste Fund and Internal Service Fund, as required by the City of South Daytona,  Florida,  during and for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2023 and ending September 30, 2024; adopting the operating and capital budgets for the City of South Daytona; providing for severance; providing for conflicting resolutions; and providing an effective date.  First and only reading.
